Frequently Asked Questions

What print data is captured?

PrintGuard captures the document name, user, printer name, page count, color/monochrome status, paper size, timestamp, and job status. The actual document content is not captured or stored.

Can I block color printing?

Yes. You can create policies that restrict color printing to specific users, groups, or printers. Users attempting unauthorized color prints will be redirected to monochrome or blocked entirely.

Does it work with network printers?

Yes. PrintGuard tracks print jobs sent to local, network, and shared printers. Any printer accessible from the endpoint is monitored regardless of connection type.

Is it HIPAA/compliance ready?

Yes. PrintGuard provides the audit trail required by HIPAA, SOC 2, and other compliance frameworks. You can prove who printed what, when, and on which printer with timestamped logs.

Can I use this as an MSP?

Absolutely. PrintGuard supports multi-company management from a single tenant. Each company gets its own devices, print policies, and reports.

Is there a free tier?

Yes, up to 5 devices are free forever. No credit card required.
